1. DESIGN AND TOOL ROOM
Design section has the facilities to put conception of development and production tooling into workable shape.
So, specific are the requirements that Computer Aided Design (CAD) with its advanced stages has become core at this section.
Accurate Tool room is the key to precision engineering. In view of this, the company went for installing more then ten different kinds of sophisticated machines, 3-Axis copy milling, 60 Amps EDM, Shapers, Lathes, Radial drill, vertical milling and precision drilling machines. Presence of these machines has rendered NAC vast capabilities of making in house all kinds of forging tools, sheet metal dies, production and inspection gauges, jigs and fixtures.
2. FORGING SHOP
Till recent past transformation of a vision to some physical shape of iron used to take lot of time, may be decades. Now, with latest scientific advancements, transformation time has been markedly reduced and this endless process is always on.
We at NAC claim to be associated actively with this process, equipped with 4 pneumatic pre-shaped forging hammers (l00 ~ 250 Kgs.) 2 drop forging hammers of capacities 750 ~ 1500 Kgs coupled with 2 trimming presses, 3 medium size stamp forging presses, 1 upsetter along with an annealing furnace and 3 shot blasters. NAG is fully geared to undertake any type of forging job relating to engineering & automobile industry.
3. MACHINING / PRODUCTION
Our machining lay out is well equipped to do all sorts of operations on the forging that we manufacture in house. This section comprises not less than fifty different kinds of imported machines such as copy/turret/short bed lathes, cylindrical/surface/centerless grinders, gear shapers/hobbings/shaving, thread rolling, radial drill and milling etc. So we can undertake any precision job which starts from forging and ends in grinding.
4. SPRING MANUFACTURING
Implicitly a spring leaf being shock absorbing device has to have endless Fife. NAC attains strict quality controlled environment. This shop has the capability to manufacture flat springs for industrial purposes, multileaf springs for trucks, trailers and axle assemblies, dynamic and flexible Taper Leaf-Springs for automobiles requiring constant cushioning effect under varying loading conditions.
The taper leaf springs represent the latest development of technology and owing to their convincing advantages, they are becoming the most frequently applied elements in vehicle suspensions. The construction of the taper leaf spring allows optimum use of the material, thus allowing considerable weight reduction. The spring can be exposed to an extremely high level of stress, owing to NAC use of standardized high quality spring steel. The surface is compressed by shot-peening. The springs are then "plasticized” and finally protected against corrosion by inorganic zinc. All processes serve the purpose of NAC taper-leaf springs: quality, longevity, progressive action.
5. HEAT TREATMENT SECTION
In simple words, this is strength imparting shop. To achieve this very elaborate facilities with controlled operating parameters are required. Foremost requisite is the team who understands & operates this facility at NAC. Our layout includes three induction heating units ranging from 25 KVA~150 KVA with scanners (shaft hardener), spacious temperature control hardening and tempering furnaces, four quenching tanks for thorough hardening of high carbon alloy steel. Saltbath furnaces for liquid carburising. nitriding, carbo-nitriding, cyaniding for heat treatment of low carbon alloy steel are also part of our expertise.

7. FABRICATION & WELDING SHOP

This section comprises of hydraulic and power presses of different capacities. This shop is also equipped with shearing machine, projection welding machine, CO2 and arc welding plants.
6. QUALITY ASSURANCE

As for as quality is concerned, we follow the principle that production and quality should go side by side. Quality does get preference on production. We have following facilities to enforce this objective.
  1. Crack Detection Arrangements
  2. Full Range of Hardness Testing (Rockwell, Brinnal, Vickers and shore)
  3. Endurance/Fatigue testing machines for all functional parts/assemblies
  4. Load Vs deflection checking machine. (For knowing spring constants of spring leaf assemblies) And many other conventional measuring devices & instruments.

 

8. SURFACE TREATMENT SHOP (Phosphating & Painting)

The shop consists of complete paint shop including baking facilities, de-greasing & de-rusting. Phosphating process is done before painting which increase quality of component. It increases the resistance power against moisture and rust.
Both the prime aspects of surface treatment is decorative and protective requisites are well taken care of.
Our this section has pretreatment arrangements of degreasing, de-rusting and phosphating. Painting is baked which gives it very strong bonding.
Performance of this section is constantly monitored by salt spray test reports of the random samples, picked from the painted lots. These reports, we get from external and authenticated source.
